Abbey Court Hotel & Leisure Centre (Nenagh) is recruiting an Assistant Manager to support the day-to-day running of the hotel, working closely with (and reporting directly to) the Manager.

Location: Abbey Court Hotel & Leisure Centre, Nenagh, Co. Tipperary.
The role
You will support daily hotel operations, led by example on shift, and ensure a consistently high standard of service and presentation across the property.
Roster: 5 days over 7 (includes weekends and a flexible schedule as required by the business).
Key responsibilities include:
· Supporting the Manager with daily operational planning and smooth service delivery across departments.
· Being responsible for the gym/pool/leisure areas when on duty, ensuring they are well supervised, well presented, and operating safely and professionally for guests and members.
· Taking initiative to resolve guest queries and issues promptly, escalating to the Manager where appropriate.
· Ensuring an excellent customer experience through proactive service, clear communication, and attention to detail.
· Maintaining strong written communication (handover notes, incident/shift updates) and professional verbal communication at all times.
Key requirements
· Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar Assistant Manager / Duty Manager role.
· Positive mindset and attitude, with initiative and the ability to work independently.
· A valid Lifeguard qualification (essential).
· Organised, diligent, and reliable, with a consistent “can do” attitude.
· Comfortable working 5 over 7, including weekends.
· Previous experience in people management is a strong advantage.
· Strong communication skills and a genuine focus on guest/member experience.
· Previous experience is overseeing a busy gym/pool area.
· Fluent written and verbal English.
· Excellent verbal and written English.
Strong organisational skills and a guest-first approach.
