Events / Sales Coordinator — Abbey Court Hotel, Nenagh

 

Contract: Permanent, fulltime — variable hours, 5 days over 7 (including evenings and weekends as business requires)

Reports to: Operations & Hotel Manager

 

Key purpose of the role

To drive and convert event, wedding, conference and group business for the hotel, and to coordinate every confirmed booking from first enquiry through to flawless delivery on the day. The role is the link between the client and the operational team securing the sale, capturing every detail accurately, and making sure nothing is left unfinished or assumed.

 

Key scope and actions

Respond to all event, wedding, meeting and group enquiries promptly by phone, email and in person, and follow up consistently until the business is won or closed out.

Conduct showrounds, prepare proposals and quotations, negotiate within agreed rate parameters and convert enquiries to confirmed bookings.

Manage the enquiry and booking pipeline, maintaining accurate records of all activity, provisional holds, deposits and contracts.

Own the detail: dietary requirements, room setups, AV, timings, table plans, signage, special requests and final numbers all confirmed, documented and communicated before the event.

Act as ontheday point of contact for key events, checking setup against the function sheet and resolving issues before the client notices them.

Issue contracts, track deposits and balances, raise accurate invoices and liaise with accounts on settlement.

Support proactive sales activity: outbound calls, repeatbusiness followup, local corporate and community contacts, wedding fairs and networking events.

Contribute content and ideas for the hotel's website and social media promotion of events, weddings and packages.

Complete postevent followup, gather feedback, secure reviews and rebook where possible.

Report on enquiry volumes, conversion rates and revenue against target.

Work in line with hotel standards, health and safety requirements, GDPR obligations and licensing rules.

 

Essential requirements

Proven experience in an events, sales or coordination role, ideally within hotels, hospitality or venue events.

A completerfinisher, sees tasks through to full completion and closes the loop every time.

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in written documentation and figures.

Highly organised, able to manage multiple events and deadlines at once without dropping detail.

Proactive and salesmotivated, comfortable pursuing leads and working to targets.

Fluent English, both verbal and written, with a confident, professional clientfacing manner.

Competent across a range of systems — property management / booking systems, events or CRM systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Flexibility to work variable hours, 5 days over 7, including evenings and weekends.

Must meet the legal requirements to work in Ireland.  

 

 

Desirable

Experience with wedding coordination

Previous experience of upselling and package development
